Kai Trump can count on numerous high-profile cheerleaders when she makes her professional golf debut on Thursday.
This teenage golfer, who happens to be connected to Donald Trump, received a sponsor's invitation to participate at the Annika competition in the Sunshine State.
Her grandfather, an avid golfer, owns multiple international courses and often competes against his granddaughter.
"He's quite skilled. I can't say much but we play competitive games," she stated.
She mentioned that her grandfather, unable to come, counseled her: "Just avoid anxiety."
"He basically advised me to play and relax," she added.
"To me, he's simply a regular grandfather. He won't be there this weekend. He's focused on presidential duties, making him somewhat preoccupied."
While still amateur, Kai has participated in a mere three competitions in 2024 and has position 461 in the American Junior Golf Association listings.
Yet she can seek guidance from 15-time major champion, in a relationship with Kai's mother.
"He is the greatest golfer worldwide," Kai stated.
"Additionally, he's a superior human being. He told me to compete, enjoy myself, and go with the flow."
She'll challenge some of the biggest names in women's golf at this tournament, featuring world number two the champion, British Charley Hull, professional Thompson and last year's winner Lilia Vu.
The LPGA commented that her participation exposes the sport to different demographics, especially with younger fans.
Kai has millions of followers and has started a personal fashion and living label.
The competition starts at 5:30 PM GMT.
